This Is What's Possible

Your art. On actual store shelves.

Here's one of my licensed designs in my hand at Barnes + Noble. Not a mock-up. Not a dream board. A real card, manufactured by a real publisher, sitting in a real retail display.

Close to 1,000 of my designs have been licensed and manufactured. GCA teaches you the exact process I use — the same one that built this track record.

Your Instructor

I'm Michele Frusciano. I spent years working in-house as an art director at a top stationery company. I've sat on the other side of the submission pile, so I know exactly what makes a publisher stop scrolling.

I am also a prolific licensed artist myself having successfully published close to 1,000 of my own greeting card designs to date. I built this course to give you the exact insider insights I wish I had when I started.

The 'Who to Pitch to Handbook' is amazing! I love your teaching style, Michele. You get to all the important stuff and include how to do things that people at your skill level might take for granted. AND, your level of support is very comforting. I know I can ask you any question along the way and you will answer right away. Thanks for putting this course out in the world!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I think about selling my art as greeting cards specifically in the first place?

Greeting cards are the bees knees for so many reasons! In terms of licensing, greeting card publishers need more new art on a more consistent rolling basis than other products or industries, which means LOTS of opportunity for artists!

There's already a million artists making cards... is there room for me?

YES! Greeting card publishers in particular need new art on a constant rolling basis — more than most other products or industries in the licensing world! By sharing your art with them, you are providing a much needed service.

Will I learn how to paint in this class?

No. If you are looking for more of an arts + crafts workshop on making handmade cards or a painting tutorial, this is not the class for you. This class is intended for people already making art of any kind that would like to see their art professionally manufactured on greeting cards by existing greeting card publishers.

Do I need to be a digital artist for this class?

Not at all! Any medium is welcome in the land of greeting cards! Oil painting, acrylic, watercolor, drawing, photography, digital art... these all work great! Sculpture may be more of a stretch, but if you can find a way to photograph your work in a way that would work on a card, go for it!

Am I guaranteed to land a licensing deal after GCA?

Like anything, your success will be determined by how much effort + consistency you put in. I will equip you with all of the tools + information you could possibly need. The rest is up to you! The artists who find success are the ones who keep showing up, keep honing their craft, + keep pitching on a consistent basis. They are no different than you!

I'm feeling overwhelmed + time crunched as it is. How can I possibly fit this in too?

You will have lifetime access to Greeting Card Academy, so move at your own pace! The length of the lessons amounts to about 3 hours total watch time. You will need additional time to do the work on the projects of course, but this can all be paced to your own needs.

Do I need to have lots of artwork to get started?

Nope! You don't need to have any artwork to start. All you need is a willingness to learn + put in the work to create new art as you go.

Do I need fancy software or tech for this?

Nope! And you don't need to be any sort of tech savvy at all for this.

Can I actually make money licensing my art as cards?

YES! Greeting card licensing is a real, sustainable income stream for artists who commit to the process. GCA walks you through exactly how it works.
